Discussion on cooling load calculation methods of VRF air conditioning system for office buildings in hot summer and cold winter zone

Since the VRF air conditioning system has the characteristics of intermittent operation and heat transfer from neighboring rooms, its operation mode has a large impact on the air conditioning load calculation results, and the estimation method of the unit area load index may cause the problem of large selection, leading to cost increase and energy waste. In this paper, an office building in Shanghai is taken as an example, and the DeST software is used to simulate the cooling loads of the building under different operation modes and to explore the recommended range of load amplification factors for office buildings. The results show that the recommended load amplification factor range of 1.2 to 2.0 in the T/CECA 20016-2022Applicationtechnicalspecificationformulti-splitairconditioning(heatpump)systemhas some applicability, but further amplification is needed for some rooms in more extreme cases, such as intermittent short-time operation.
